Marked by the painting of Caravaggio, Turner and Delacroix, Wahib Chehata, multimedia artist, photographs the tale of his roaming in Mali. He constructs his portraits like paintings, waiting hours for the ideal light that will remove from the subject any racial, social or ethnic consideration. The artist evokes and thus invokes the players of a new mythology combining ‘primordial dawns with an apocalyptic fracas’.
