Majida Khattari was born in 1966 in Erfoud.

Majida Khattari studied at the Casablanca School of Fine Arts in 1989. She graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1995.

In her photographic work, Majida Khattari revisits and recreates the clichés that dominate Orientalist painting. By reconstructing sets inspired by famous orientalist compositions, Majida Khattari « contemporises » her characters by endowing them with an uncertain status that is both fantasy and photographic reality.
